Come With Me, Let Us Wander

In the spring when the flowers through the frosted ground are peeping

And the sunlight and dewdrops o’er leaves and grass are creeping,

When the sky turns to blue and the birds sing and whistle

And the sweet song of life spreads through every tree and thistle,

Come with me, let us wander through the meadows together.

In the summer and heat, crickets chirp melodious dances,

In the fields full and green, swallows flit and coney prances.

Through the woods squirrels fly and the deer graze with pleasure,

And the birds take the sky and take joy in bounteous treasure,

Come to me, let us wander through the shadows together.

Autumn calls, sweet refrain from the heat and work of summer,

Heralds sends through the land in each hue and tone and color.

Herald Wind, sing thy song, Herald Harvest, thy greeting,

Though the frost be ere long and the warmth and vigor fleeting,

Come to me, let us wander through the orchards together.

And at last, when the Winter exhorts the trees to slumber

And sends angels of silver in snowflakes without number,

Comes the days of the fire and great tales of old splendor,

Hope and joy for all time in our feasting we remember.

Come with me, let us wander through the joy of Earth’s respite.

Seasons come in their times, with their joys they greet us merry,

Though their madrigals rise, we must choose to hark or tarry.

Will you come to the hills, will you sing in the valleys

Through the dark winter chills and in spring when sunlight rallies?

Come with me, let us wander through the whole earth together.
