Christ Is My Banner

Christ is my banner, my teacher and light,

His word is my joy and my sword for the fight.

Why should this be, mighty God changed for me,

That with Him I may follow, and through Him I may see?

Christ is my savior, my light in the storm.

His wounds are my healing, by Him I’m reborn.

I lift up my eyes to God’s great sacrifice,

His healing is mine, His life is the price.

Christ is my brother, firstborn from the dead,

God in flesh risen, living water and bread.

With His resurrection, I rejoice for all time,

His life everlasting gives assurance of mine.

Christ is my favor, my name before God,

Dark spirit and mind turned to white by His blood,

No name bear I now but the name of His son,

The Spirit dwells in me, may His will be done.

Christ is my master, my lord and my God,

His will is my road, to walk where He trod.

His word is my hope, my heart and my guide.

In life and in death I will stand by His side.

Christ is my banner, my pillar of fire,

To love and to follow is my spirit’s desire,

His grace is sufficient through stumbling and strife,

and through His noble gift, He has granted me life.
