Life is a great brew of joy and sorrow and an awful lot of other things I can’t explain. But I don’t want to. I would rather experience it by living, really.

If I knew I had only today to live, I wouldn’t want to find myself hurrying to solve all the things I should have solved before, but never decided to. I would want to find myself at peace, to live as I had every day before. We all have different ideas of many things. What we should wear, how we should speak, propriety – or lack thereof. Preferences, really. But I don’t think we ought to quarrel about it, especially not before supper.

If you go about looking at life with the expectation of disappointment, you may be disappointed, you may not. If you go about looking at life with the expectation of success, you may succeed. Then again, you may not. I prefer to go about looking at life with no expectation at all, just taking what comes as it is and seeing what I can make of it. It makes me quite resourceful.
