Lady Of Starlight

Louder I call for thee, seeking thy face,

At the black sky I shout thy name.

Draw close to me, my love, my light,

Yearning for thee I whisper and cry.

Over the hills and plains I call thee,

Forever I have longed for thy embrace.

Still you are silent, you do not reply.

Thy heart is cold, for thy pride is great.

Although you hear me, thy pride makes thee blind,

Ringing laughter, mocking and cruel, is all I hear from thee.

Louder and louder, till my voice gives way, I shall sing.

Inside my mind I wonder, I think, I hope and I beg to you,

Give me thy heart and love, bring me up to you, hold me.

Here I lay, in my bed, old and grey, an old bachelor. But I shall say

Though I be put in a grave cold and dark, I sing to thee, lady of starlight.
